This was the gun used by Gail
Davis in the groundbreaking TV series Annie Oakley which ran from 1954
through 1956. Davis was an Arkansas-born actress who starred as the
legendary sharpshooter. She appeared in thirty-two feature films,
was guest on a number of TV shows, received a star on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame, was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, and was
a role model for young women. |

Before leaving Cody, we took a
scenic drive on Wyoming highway 291 which dead ends after about 40
miles. Along the way, we saw a couple of female pronghorn antelopes. |

the headwaters of the South Fork of the Shoshoni River. |
