I now know what John Denver
meant in his song, "Wild Montana Skies". |
 |
While in Helena, we toured St.
Helena Cathedral, completed in 1924 and largely funded by mining magnate
Thomas Cruse. |
 |
It is so hard to believe that
this cathedral is located in a town of only 28,000 people! |
 |
Stained glass windows above the
altar. |
 |
Wonderful reliefs of the 12
Stations of the Cross are located around the church. |
 |
There are 59 stained glass
windows that depict the Bible from Genesis through the resurrection of
Christ. |
 |
An interesting note: We
have seen these displayed all across Montana. They are located in
yards, at highway crossings and in church yards. The world would
certainly be a better place if we saw these every day and LIVED by them
every day. Gotta love the Montana spirit. |
