Leaving Great Falls, we headed south on I-15 to Helena, Montana's capital.
Following the Missouri River, it was a beautiful drive.  There were a number of farms along the banks of the river.
The Missouri seemed to get prettier the further south we drove.
The rock formations were fascinating.  Notice the old wagon road in the lower part of the photo.
One of our side trips, while in Helena, was a boat tour of "Gates of the Mountains".
Early in the boat tour, we were treated to the sighting of an eagle's nest.  The female has been nesting here for 16 years and has produced 48 eaglets during that time.  Eagles often live to be 50-60 years of age.
Look closely and you can see an osprey's nest on top of this rock pillar.
