Mule Ears Peaks.  They rise to an elevation of 3,881 feet.
A roadside shot in the park.
Another photo taken driving down the road.  Notice the mountains everywhere.
The land is beautiful but not very forgiving.
This is a large park.  About 801,000 acres.
Distant view of Santa Elena Canyon from Sotol Vista.
The Sotol plant was used by the indians for food, fermented beverage, rope and sandals.
There are lots of big, almost overpowering mountains in the park.
I often wondered if a human had been to the top of all of these mountains.
