Near the end of the outward bound leg of our cruise we approached Aialik Glacier.  In spite of all you hear about glacier retrenchment, this particular glacier remains unchanged from a hundred years ago.
A close up view of Aialik Glacier.
Enjoying the scenery on the cruise back to port.
The primary ways to see Kenai Fjords National Park are by cruise ship, airplane or kayak.
Have you ever seen anything so vast and beautiful as this national park?
You can hike to Exit Glacier, named by oldtimers because they used this glacier to exit the Harding Icefield.
We took the short hike up to the glacier.
As this glacier retreats, you can see scour marks on the rocks it once covered.
Interestingly, not far from the glacier was a healthy, green and growing area.
