For those who follow us, our sign is on the row of posts adjacent to the Alaska Highway.
A reminder of bygone days.  This was taken at the Watson Lake Airport which, during WWII, was a ferry stop for 8,000 aircraft headed for the Soviet Union.
Finally, we are headed west on the Alcan Highway, now renamed the Alaska Highway.
The road surface is good and the scenery is great along the Alaska Highway.
Schwatka Lake just outside Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
Whitehorse is a modern city of 23,500 residents.  The remainder of the vast Yukon Territory has less than 10,000 inhabitants.
The Yukon River flows through Miles Canyon outside Whitehorse.
The Klondike II sternwheeler, restored by Parks Canada.  I estimate it is 45 feet wide and 200 feet long.  Fully loaded it draws only four feet of water.
